The last day of HGTV shooting took place at the end of our road. This shot was taken at high tide. This was the HGTV crew with our real estate broker (top left) Janet, and us (bottom right). We had a great time, despite the long hours.

This was out first visit to the Tarpon Lodge. From our house, it is a 15 minute drive north, and it is worth every bit of the travel. We highly recommend a reservation a 1/2 hour before sunset out on the portico. We like to get there early to grab a cocktail at the bar and walk around the beatiful grounds. The menu here is the most diverse on the island and is definitely some of the best food we have eaten. We make it a point to dine here whenever we visit!
A short walk or bike ride from the house is a nesting pair of Bald Eagles. The first time we saw the Eagle, he or she was actually in a bird bath in someone's yard, and we thought it was a fake bird! At the end our road, there is a small beach where my wife and I have made a ritual of watching the sun set. This shot was taken at sunset looking to the south east. The orange glowing round object appears to be the sun, however, it is actually one of the high rises on Fort Myers Beach. Thankfully, you will not find any high rises on Pine Island! A short boat ride across the bay and under the causeway bridge, you will find a nice little scenic cruise. If your boat has a small enough beam, you can go straight under the Periwinkle Way Bridge and enjoy a relaxing cruise through the labyrinth of canals. If you have time, be sure to stop at Gramma Dot's for a bite to eat http://www.sanibelmarina.com/ |
